Preparing For A Love's Baby Soft Day Slumber Party

So I hear that it's Love's Baby Soft Day, and everyone's getting involved no matter how much of a girl they are. Or a brony. Or both. Well, in this guide I'll be demonstrating some top tips for hosting a Love's Baby Soft Day Slumber Party!

Snacks

  • Buttery Popcorn. Or butterscotch popcorn, it doesn't matter. Sleepovers aren't complete without the sweet, crunchy taste of butterscotch popcorn in a purty pink bowl for you and your gang to try!
  • Hot Cocoa. Listen, I heard that girls of the '80s drank their hot cocoa out of Strawberry Shortcake and My Little Pony mugs. Why not order some on eBay and prepare them ready for you and each of your mates on your party? If you can't go onto eBay, find some modern day mugs with Disney characters on them and go all out with the sweet chocolatey taste.
  • Pink Cupcakes. No sleepover is complete without fresh homemade cupcakes, especially with pink icing. Whip up a batch of homemade cupcakes for your slumber party whether it's chocolate, vanilla or unicorn, and make pink icing to add on top of each cake.

Movies To Watch During Your Slumber Party

  • The Many Adventures Of Winnie The Pooh. Part nonsense, part charm and innocence, this traditionally animated Disney film was what was the theatrical debut of the beloved yellow bear with a taste for honey. Use this film as an opportunity to point out some of the hidden detail with your friends, including that fact that Pooh spelt 'Suspect' wrong when he floated up to the Hunny Tree in the first story!
  • My Little Pony: A Very Minty Christmas. Forget the vibrant, fast-paced animation of Friendship Is Magic, this cosy My Little Pony film is perfect for a night in with the girls. The film tells the story of Minty, a clumsy green pony with an obsession for socks who accidentally knocks down Ponyville's Here Comes Christmas Candy Cane and must journey to Santa's village to require his help to fix it, with her colourfully equine friends in tow. The film is worth watching especially for the 'That's What I Love About Christmas' sequences, where we see all of Ponyville enjoying Christmas traditions and celebrations, and even at one point reusing stock footage from A Charming Birthday. Think again about what you watch, Bronies!
  • Bob The Builder: A Christmas To Remember. For a preschool film about a builder and his ragtag crew of colourful machines preparing for Christmas, this stop motion festive film will tug at your heartstrings, especially with the plot about Bob's long lost brother Tom planning to reunite with him on Christmas Eve. You see, this film isn't just for Christmas, it's for any time of year, alongside that MLP film I mentioned earlier. The fact that Elton John provides the voice of one of the characters provides a star-studded feel to the movie.

Elefun & Friends

Now you may remember the Elefun & Friends animated short film from my My Little Pony: Twinkle Wish Adventure DVD. It's a fun addition to such a girly DVD that brings friendship to tropical limits, all while showing us the best song in the world as Elefun and all his new found friends play together and help each other out. And I say, 'Friends 'Til The End' is the best bit of the Elefun & Friends short. This mum reviewed the Elefun & Friends toys (even though it was years ago that this blog post was released, not mine, but her's), and told us to enter the code at the Elefun website for a chance to see the short. Fancy that, eh? It's Elephantastic!

YTV - January 2, 2000

On the second day of my birth year, who would forget that PBS Kids' Wishbone and Cartoon Network's Tiny Toon Adventures aired together as part of YTV's strand Snit Station? When I think of snits, I think of the little bugs that reside in your hair when you get head lice at school. My god, the itchiness that occurs on your body and on your head! But you've never fear, Wishbone may be a real dog, but he won't go by PETA's standards since he's a real dog wearing historical clothes. All hail King Wishbone!

Cartoon Network - August 19, 2002

Well, the most abusive man in the universe may have seen the light of day back in 2002, but on weekdays from Monday to Thursday we were treated to the friendly adventures of Hamtaro (the little guy in the picture above with the big eyes), his girlfriend Bijou and his best friend, the Zoid named Zeke. Together, they went on many grand adventures, some of which went off with a SPLASH!

Cartoonist's Day Starter Pack

A Town Called Panic - The Big Sleep

This Town Called Panic short is described by yours personally as the best animation seen on Aardman's Darkside. Watch as Indian, Cowboy and Horse watch their world crumble around them every time they wake up in a new world or season.

YTV - January 1, 2000

New year, new YTV! Yet they still want to keep it weird. You know what's weirder? The fact that in some of my stories, Furaha's foster family consists of a Trollan wizard, an Autobot and two Digimon. On a day of cosying up with cocoa and watching the new millennium ring in, Digimon aired as part of Snit Station. All you snits - beware of the Agumon!

Cartoon Network - August 18, 2002

There's nothing on August 18th then cuddling up next to the ones you love on a big soft mattress on a soft bed, huggled under a safe, soft quilt. Take Furaha and Orko for example, they do that all the time. Which reminds me: do you remember when He Man aired as part of Cartoon Theatre? Many Trollan wizards were primarily offended by this whole turn of events, especially Orko.

Scooby Doo & The Alien Invaders/He Man: The Beginning

The 'Groovy' sequence in Scooby Doo & The Alien Invaders may seem like the earworm-inducing Lion King II song 'Upendi' for Scooby Doo viewers, but when you pair it with He Man, imagine Furaha and Orko floating on a leafy love boat down the stream, then dancing with a wide variety of African animals to jazz music in an ancient temple. Now that's one thing to imagine if you've seen The Jungle Book 2!

He Man: The Beginning

I'm sorry, but earlier today, I got really hurt by evil trolls on Deviantart. I'm feeling really upset, but I'm not giving up yet, so to tie you over until then, here's the premiere of the 2002 He Man.

Neurosis Tip #1

A word to the wise: do not, under any circumstance, watch Aardman's Darkside. It is really creepy, ugly, scary and will freak you out in minutes, because, as I said, when you're neurotic, the world can be a scary place.

Instead, enjoy shows like Wallace & Gromit, Shaun The Sheep, Aardman's dub of A Town Called Panic and season 1 of Rex The Runt. And if you're neurotic in Australia, you can watch the A Town Called Panic DVD - if you can get your hands on it in a thrift shop somewhere.

The Great Holiday - Part 5

The next day proved to be a very special day for our trio. They were going to Rollerbowl! Each one had a go at striking the pins with a bowling ball for each of them. The balls proved to be heavy, but Optimus could pick them up with Autobot strength! However, Orko felt very weak picking up his bowling ball, but Furaha encouraged him. “Imagine the pins are your abusive co-stars!” Hearing these words, Orko knocked them down and was met with a big cheer from both Optimus and Furaha, who grabbed him and hugged him between them.

After that, they decided to play on the arcade machines. Furaha and Orko had a go at playing ‘Jump It Junior’ on the bright blue and red arcade machine, while Optimus was delighted to find that there was a pool table, and engaged in a long, boring game of pool. In another turn of events, Furaha and Orko tried the dance machine. Orko didn’t have any legs, so he kindly let Furaha do the dancing for him.

Then after all that, they went to the local Poultry Palace to get something to eat. They went to the drive up window and ordered their food - Furaha and Orko each had chicken poppers with cookies and a drink, plus boneless chicken they shared together. Yum! However, Optimus, being a responsible ‘bot, just said as he drove off with them in his vehicle mode, “No chicken for me, thanks, you two, I’m on an Energon diet so you’re free to share with one another.”

Furaha and Orko went home with Optimus full and exhausted. Optimus tucked them into bed, wishing that they could have another fun and exciting day on their holiday tomorrow.
