On the second day of my birth year, who would forget that PBS Kids' Wishbone and Cartoon Network's Tiny Toon Adventures aired together as part of YTV's strand Snit Station? When I think of snits, I think of the little bugs that reside in your hair when you get head lice at school. My god, the itchiness that occurs on your body and on your head! But you've never fear, Wishbone may be a real dog, but he won't go by PETA's standards since he's a real dog wearing historical clothes. All hail King Wishbone!

Well, the most abusive man in the universe may have seen the light of day back in 2002, but on weekdays from Monday to Thursday we were treated to the friendly adventures of Hamtaro (the little guy in the picture above with the big eyes), his girlfriend Bijou and his best friend, the Zoid named Zeke. Together, they went on many grand adventures, some of which went off with a SPLASH!

On a day of cosying up with cocoa and watching the new millennium ring in, Digimon aired as part of Snit Station. All you snits - beware of the Agumon!

There's nothing on August 18th then cuddling up next to the ones you love on a big soft mattress on a soft bed, huggled under a safe, soft quilt. Take Furaha and Orko for example, they do that all the time. Which reminds me: do you remember when He Man aired as part of Cartoon Theatre? Many Trollan wizards were primarily offended by this whole turn of events, especially Orko.

A word to the wise: do not, under any circumstance, watch Aardman's Darkside. It is really creepy, ugly, scary and will freak you out in minutes, because, as I said, when you're neurotic, the world can be a scary place.

Instead, enjoy shows like Wallace & Gromit, Shaun The Sheep, Aardman's dub of A Town Called Panic and season 1 of Rex The Runt. And if you're neurotic in Australia, you can watch the A Town Called Panic DVD - if you can get your hands on it in a thrift shop somewhere.

The Great Holiday - Part 5

The next day proved to be a very special day for our trio. They were going to Rollerbowl! Each one had a go at striking the pins with a bowling ball for each of them. The balls proved to be heavy, but Optimus could pick them up with Autobot strength! However, Orko felt very weak picking up his bowling ball, but Furaha encouraged him. “Imagine the pins are your abusive co-stars!” Hearing these words, Orko knocked them down and was met with a big cheer from both Optimus and Furaha, who grabbed him and hugged him between them.

After that, they decided to play on the arcade machines. Furaha and Orko had a go at playing ‘Jump It Junior’ on the bright blue and red arcade machine, while Optimus was delighted to find that there was a pool table, and engaged in a long, boring game of pool. In another turn of events, Furaha and Orko tried the dance machine. Orko didn’t have any legs, so he kindly let Furaha do the dancing for him.

Then after all that, they went to the local Poultry Palace to get something to eat. They went to the drive up window and ordered their food - Furaha and Orko each had chicken poppers with cookies and a drink, plus boneless chicken they shared together. Yum! However, Optimus, being a responsible ‘bot, just said as he drove off with them in his vehicle mode, “No chicken for me, thanks, you two, I’m on an Energon diet so you’re free to share with one another.”

Furaha and Orko went home with Optimus full and exhausted. Optimus tucked them into bed, wishing that they could have another fun and exciting day on their holiday tomorrow.

Pizza For My Birthday!

Well, what a fun day out I've had with Mrs L today. Her trademark humor really lightened up the place as we went on our way to the city, and we talked for ages about her trip to Australia and her feeding the kangaroos. Unluckily, she didn't see any Bluey - bummer.

But anyway, when we got to Starbucks I had a brownie with hot chocolate on the side, and when Mrs L got into Smyths - OH MY GOD! She told me they have the most awesome Sylvanian Families section ever, with all the babies, adults, children and playsets. I'm going to collect them all from now on! The highlight is going to PriMark and buying a Stitch jumper seeing how my friend Disney M sported one when she was at home in Key housing. You know her, the one with the Mickey & Friends T-shirt, the rainbow hair, the Winnie The Pooh T-shirt, the Minnie Mouse doll and her loyal Care Bear. I was so delighted when I bought that sweatshirt, I'm going to be part of all the cool kids these days who love Stitch as much as they love Simba!

While driving through Inverness we spotted lots of strange sights - but no street theatre monsters like in the pictures I saw online and the short Mum showed me two days ago. I saw balloons, graffiti, cyclists and a truck displaying a video as part of some sort of roadshow. Then we went to Domino's and had the usual fayre. All was smooth sailing as I ate my pizza and cookies and drank my Coke...

...until Mrs L turned the radio on. DUN-DUN-DUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUNNNN!!

Furaha The Fairy & Orko The Elf Wizard - Part 1

Deep within the Valley Of Seasons, there exists the Spring Meadows. Here, Spring exists every time, and is brought into the world every year by a community of elves and fairies, who work together to give the world nature as we know it. This is the story about a toddler fairy and her big elf brother, who are on a quest to discover the valley for the first time.

Up in a family tree, where most families of elves and fairies live, there lived Furaha, who was only 2, and was a beautiful fairy with pink wings and magical powers. Orko had magical powers too, and still, he was a wonderful big elf brother. There they are in the treetops, asleep in their bed of moss, underneath their flower petal duvet. Furaha is the first to wake up. She begins to crawl all over Orko, encouraging him to wake up from the looks of the morning sun rising in the dainty sky. He just turns over and goes back to sleep. This doesn’t work, so Furaha tickles him with her wings, causing him to wake up. At once, their parents Kiburi the elf and Ua the fairy enter, delighted to see their little ones are awake.

“Good morning, you two.” says Ua. “Today’s the day you’re off exploring the Valley Of Seasons.” “It’ll be a great voyage, I just know it!” cries Orko. “Now remember, you promised to look after Furaha while she’s on the trip with you. Also remember that she is starting to use her magical powers.” “Yes, mother,” obeyed Orko, and they went downstairs to have a nice breakfast of honey on bread and hot chocolate, served in petal tea cups and plates.
