Rug Island - Tropical Island Small World & Sensory Play

Bluey, Bingo, Luke, Resus, Cleo and I love playing islands when we come round for a playdate - except Bandit isn't the castaway. Sometimes, when Luella, Six, Snickers, Coco, Honey, Chloe and Mackenzie all come over, we pretend we're trying to survive on our very own peaceful Rug Island - that is, if a chocolate egg (rugby ball) is thrown into the yard. Bluey and Bingo love playing with water and sand, especially on the beach, and you can recreate the experience with this tropical island sensory play!

Horsey Ride - DIY Unicorn Costume & Unicorn Body Butter

Uncle Stripe could just recall the embarrassing memories of playing 'Horsey Wedding' with Bluey, Bingo and his girls, so he sewed a special unicorn costume so that Muffin can pretend to be a unicorn all day long - even in the bath! Speaking of baths, whenever Aunt Trixie has a little me time, she likes to rub body butter all over herself, but as a prank, Uncle Stripe, Muffin and Socks place Muffin's unicorn body butter and take the original body butter back into the bedroom before Aunt Trixie even has time to enter the bathroom! You can recreate these funny scenarios by making your own unicorn costume and body butter, so while the kids prance around and create magic, you can spend a little magical me time!

I.B.F.Fs & I.B.F.Fs: Friendship Bites

I have two new story anthologies in the works, which I'm only going to do after days I go to Brora. On days I don't go to Brora, I'll do one on Tuesday and the other on Wednesday. Let me introduce you to them. Warning: they are my first proper titles.

First, there's the proper debut for I.B.F.Fs, I.B.F.Fs: Imaginary Best Friends Forever. It features four stories featuring characters from Scream Street and Bluey: in A Place To Sleep, Luke, Resus, Cleo and I fall out of bed and try to find a new place to sleep. In Movies, this is a remake of the Bluey episode 'Movies' where my siblings and I face a difficult decision whilst on a trip to the cinema, with characters from My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic and Dennis & Gnasher Unleashed helping out. In Monster HQ, Luke, Resus, Cleo, Bluey, Bingo and I visit the place where the trio's job at CBBC was first accepted and tell me and my two friends about their first day on air. Finally, in Cousin Six, it's just a simple story that involves me, my cousin Six and my aunt Dr. F on a trip to the beach.
I.B.F.Fs: Friendship Bites is a series of short vignettes based on the jokes from the Scream Street joke book. They usually involve my friends, siblings, neighbours and me involved in all kinds of shenanigans, from Dr. Skulley posing as a music student to join in with music class to Alston developing a rage over steak at a fancy restaurant.

Trust me, I'm an author, these ideas are grrrrrreat!

Bingo - DIY Tetris Inspired Puzzle

When he was younger, Bandit used to love playing arcade games with his brother Stripe in the '80s, especially Tetris, especially as he tried to match all the coloured blocks together. With his two girls now visiting the arcade sometimes, especially during the time they tried to win a prize at the claw machine, Bandit can recreate his childhood experience at home - using wood blocks, liquid watercolour paints and, for adults to handle only, a glue gun. You can follow along and make this childhood arcade game if you grew up in the '80s!

This puzzle is all part of a series of activities themed around the Bluey episode 'Bingo', which you can access on Loose Part's website:

Fruit Bat - Homemade Bat Mobile

For her new bedroom, Bluey and her mum made a beautiful bat mobile to hang over her bed, so that the shadows of her fruit bat brothers can always help her remember when it's time to enter her dreams of becoming one of them, eating fruit in gardens and rainforests and watching Dad score touchdowns on the football field with his mates. You can give it a try too! Use black card, yellow card and paint to bring Bluey's new mobile to life!

Tish Tash & Friends - My Drawings

These are some drawings I did this morning, inspired by how Tish drew her favourite comic book characters near the end of today's Tish Tash. These drawings feature me and my friends in the spectacular worlds Tish and Tash visit each day. Here, have a look!
Beddy Bye Land. A cosy, soft, duvet-like place where people go in their sleep to have their dreams made. This is me, Dixon, Mia, Honey and Mackenzie all fast asleep, and here is Bluey with the Red Hulamagumus, a hamster/bear like creature.
A.R.F Dungeon. A.R.F is short for Amendful Resource Foundation, a cruel hellhole for monsters that establishes in the production of series 2 of Scream Street.
The Seven Sweetly Seas. An ocean made of pink milk, with chocolate fish and stick-of-rock eels.
Cloud Kingdom. A soft, bouncy place in the sky made entirely out of clouds.
This is Tish and Tash's superhero alter-egos, Super Tash and Wonder Tish, in the interplanetary superhero comic book world of ZaPow.

There'll be more Tish Tash arriving on my blog next week, so keep your eyes peeled!

Comic Cut

Marvel's Tish Tash? No way.
DC's Tish Tash? Nah-ah.
CBeebies' Tish Tash? Oh yeah!
Oh Tish, I feel your disappointment. I'm disappointed by everything that doesn't go my way, and that includes your favourite comic not coming out anymore. This links in turn to Toybox not being published anymore - Scream Street used to make appearances, especially during Halloween issues, including the sticker activities and the story about The Brown Lagoon. When the interplanetary land of ZaPow is in terrible danger, Super Tash and Wonder Tish step in with their loyal superhero companions to save the day!

Cloud Giant

Kipper's not the only show that takes us into a world above the clouds, because Tish Tash is about to do the same to a new generation! Tish and Bobby are cloud watching, and with a little imagination power, the two are suddenly taken up by a giant cloudified version of Tash into a wondrous, soft and bouncy world made out of - what else? - clouds! There's a cloud forest, Tish and Bobby have a cloud picnic (I wonder if cloud food tastes of creamy marshmallow cereal?) and there's a cloud train station. But when it starts to rain, the two pink buddy bears have to get outta here - AND FAST!

My True New Years' Resolution

This year, not only will I obey Coco's mum's saying of "You're doing great!", but I will also only do stories on days after I go to Brora.

Bedroom (For Bluey Recaps)

Bluey Recaps has done yet another review of Bluey, this time it's of the first new episode of last November, 'Bedroom'. So, I'm bringing a craft themed to what I think of that episode!
When it comes to Bluey's new bedroom, Luke, Resus, Cleo and I help out by placing strawberry-scented perfume into her bedroom so she can remember Bingo's scent. We do the same in Bingo's room, this time with lemon-scented spritz. But when Chilli uses perfume, she likes to use a creamy variety! Now you can make Chilli's favourite too, just by using vanilla and other magic ingredients without going to a chemistry shop!

Fish Cake

Today is a special day for Rosa. It's not her birthday. It's not Christmas. It's not Mother's Day. Tish, her dad and Bobby are making a fish-shaped chocolate cake for her! But Tish will have to go to great lengths to protect it, and so Tash takes her on a trip to the Seven Sweetly Seas, where they'll have to avoid Bobby the Octopus, Daddy Walrus (does that sound familiar to you?) and Mummy Mermaid to get the cake to shore on time!

Monday

Tish Tash.
New adventures.
New worlds.
New names!
The weekend may be a time for playing and having fun (and feeling really bored), but for Tish, Monday mornings just aren't her thing. She transports herself to Beddy Bye Land, where she and Tash navigate through giant bedcovers in order to help get the sleep out of her eyes and get ready for school on time.

Find The Inspo!

What to do when you can't sleep? Write stories on paper! I've finally found inspiration at last, I can write down my imaginative thoughts in my now-dry Dumbo notebook when I have the chance. Today, I started things off with my I.B.F.Fs version of Rug Island where, unlike the original, which sees Bluey and Bingo set up an island in their backyard, it is set near the Pacific Islands and features me and my friends in our own little tribe, surviving and playing together to live in the wilds of our island.
