A Tranquil Adventure Of Sight, Sound & Smell

When I went out with Marie today, there was a lot to smell, see and hear. I met Tweed, her dog, whose fur was coloured like cookies and cream, and her house looked so warm and welcoming - except for the fact that there was disgusting pesto in her bin and that her kitchen smelled of wet dog - was that Tweed? Before lunch, we took a long walk down the hill and spotted many sights, including a few farms, a railway station that turned into a hotel, and even our guide Maggie and her dog Molly, who told us to take ten big steps and I'll never get exhausted on the walk. It was just like in CBeebies' newest show, 'Let's Go For A Walk', and right now I've discovered in two weeks, the channel will debut a new show that is like a show Mum used to watch at college, Gran, for an African-American audience: JoJo & Gran Gran. Every episode title began with 'It's Time To...' just like how another new CBeebies show, Dog Loves Books, began each title of each episode with 'Dog Loves....'. Speaking of, I told Marie all about my experiences, and she revealed she and her three teenage daughters used to love watching The Story Of Tracy Beaker, The Worst Witch (1998) and Bananas In Pyjamas.

We went back to Marie's house to have lunch, then to bake a chocolate cake. All the while I was singing, whilst beating the eggs, "Hey-diddle-ho-diddle, round and round and round!" Tweed had to lie down in a cage because he was all wet, and luckily I got rid of the wet dog smell of Marie's kitchen using her air freshener from the bathroom. Marie later used a pink air freshener on the living room, and I meditated to it, feeling like I was in a zen garden with my character Lanka the lioness cub, full of cherry blossom trees. I then lay down on the sofa for a little nap before I helped myself to a slice of chocolate cake - and trust me, Marie's a good baker - I can tell by all the cookbooks she has on her shelf! I learned to use three of my five senses on this day out - sight, hearing and smell - to accomplish the quietness of a day out with a careworker who lets me do whatever I want.

In celebration of the first airing of CBeebies' soothing short form series Hushabye Lullabye, I'm letting you in on one of the soothing lullabies from Welcome Home, a Me, You, And...lullaby book based on the Putumayo CD African Dreamland and the song 'Lonon' by Kaissa. Handcuffs - Deleted Rap Tidbit

Originally, for the first rap in 'Handcuffs', the music would stop with a simple record scratch and Mr. Nunn would violently attack the camera, yelling swears at the viewers. Fearing this would upset and scare young viewers, the BBC edited this scene out, but found the record scratches that censored the swearing hilarious to listen to. The original version without noises is now hard to find, but there's an extra version of the rap with censored sounds on iPlayer.

Furaha & Nakona Go Swimming...And I Go Baking!

Today I went out with Amy for the second time this year. I had lunch at her house and enjoyed little Kover's antics. She was rude and naughty today, and didn't want to meet me. Later, I went swimming with Amy at the local pool in Golspie, and played that my Kion and Kiara toys were Furaha and Nakona playing in the water - in fact, I've written a story-like diary entry about it, which I'm going to put on my blog this Sunday, and I've done the first half of tomorrow's diary entry, which is about Me, You, And Transformers Cybertron and begins with 'Guess how much they love them'. Does that sound familiar to anyone?

Later, I did some baking at Amy's house for the first time...all whilst telling the neighbours' dogs to shut up. I tried three cakes, and did they taste yummy or what? I guess we made them with skill and focus, like I did last week. Now I have to brace myself for tomorrow, because I can't wait to start Me, You, And Transformers Cybertron!

Top Hat Teaser...6/3/20

This Friday, after Me, You, And Transformers Cybertron (and if Clangers is recorded), Tiny's going to insert a little Mr. Benn into the Clangers as she goes down the top hat to retrieve her cotton ball. In Monsters Inc, Mike and Sully ended up in worlds reminiscent of Lilo & Stitch, Kung Fu Panda and Looney Tunes' Pepe Le Pew. This episode would be like Monsters Inc for a new generation, as this time we'll be using top hats to discover new places, rather than doors like in Pixar's hit film. Who knows where Tiny might end up? Might she end up in a world reminiscent of the beauty of Guess How Much I Love You? Or will she end up in an icy cold place reminiscent of The Little Polar Bear? Will she end up in a city full of flashing lights and bright colours? Or will Tiny end up in an African Savannah quite similar to The Lion King? It's up to you, and whoever tunes into CBeebies this Friday will be able to find out! Wish Tiny luck!

6/3/20.

Prepare yourselves for, "Top Hat", a brand new Clangers adventure, and an exciting one too!

Upside Down Mildred

It was Topsy-Turvy Day at Cackles' Academy, and Miss Hardbroom called all the students into the grand hall for an important announcement. "For this important once-a-year day only, you will all be forced to stand on your heads." A loud gasp rippled through the hall. "I will cast a spell on all of you so that you can handstand for the rest of the day until teatime." Luella had been sitting next to Mildred and was a bit worried when she heard Miss Hardbroom talk about turning her friend Mildred upside down. "No, please!" cried Luella, "Don't turn Mildred upside down, she needs her hands to work magic or eat porridge at breakfast. Nothing would be ever quite the same without a Mildred that stands on her feet." "There will be quiet in the hall!" shouted Miss Hardbroom, and all the students covered their hands with their mouths. "Hands down," she remarked, and all the students put their hands down as she stood up and took a wand from Miss Cackles' hands. She waved it around six times. "Topsy-turvy," she said, "Topsy-turvy." In a flash, all the students with the exception of Luella had turned upside down! Miss Hardbroom noticed Luella and walked up to her, looking her directly in the eye. "Why aren't you topsy-turvy?" she hissed. "Er...because of copyright reasons," shivered Luella, refusing to look into Miss Hardbroom's eyes (mainly due to her fears of the show The Demon Headmaster).

"How will I be able to sleep in my bed?" asked an upside-down Mildred, pointing to her bed, "My arms are beginning to ache." "We have to wait until teatime, Miss Hardbroom said," replied Luella. "It's so painful being able to stand upside down," sighed Mildred, "This is exactly why I hate Topsy Turvy Day, it's the most painful moment of your life to be a student." Then Ethel walked by on her hands, which instantly made both Mildred and Luella laugh. "I think Ethel can't stand being topsy-turvy, don't you?" giggled Mildred. "OMG, of course, she might find it unsatisfying, but we do not!" "You'll pay for this, Miss Hardbroom!" shouted Ethel, shaking her fist. Then came Maud, who was hilariously standing on her head as well - "Maud! Thank god, you're like me!" cried Mildred. "So you say," said Maud, "We can't eat anything properly, just wait until lunch, I think Miss Tapioca's struggling to make lunch upside down, too."

At lunchtime, the sandwiches were placed on the floor instead of the table. Luella stared at the worried students, who were unable to eat at any time at all. Sure they ate well at breakfast - gloopy porridge again - but this is serious, and all the students were just staring at their food, their hands on the dirty floor. "Something has to be done," remarked Luella, and marched up to Mildred, crawling under the table. She took a sandwich, and ordered Mildred to open her mouth. "Here comes the airplane!" she said, and moved the sandwich to Mildred's mouth. At once, she started eating, but when she tried to swallow, she just puked it back up again, all over Luella! Luella tried doing the same, but with every attempt the students puked up the sandwiches! "Every time!" shouted Luella as she stormed out of the dining hall.

Later, during potions class, the near sick students attempted to do spells with their feet! Luella had been watching all this, and decided to talk with Miss Hardbroom about the whole situation. She stormed into the office and alarmed Miss Cackle and Miss Hardbroom! "Oi! You two!" she shouted, "What have you done?! Topsy-Turvy Day isn't a very good idea after all. You've made my friend puke up her lunch and mess up spells! Put all the students the right way up again now!" "We didn't realize that," said Miss Cackle, "We've had this day for many years and no one ever had an accident." "Yes they did," said Luella, pounding her fist on the desk, "And I think such a day isn't suitable. You're harming your students, especially my friend Mildred, with your topsy-turvy spell, and I think such a day would be banned. Unless it would be banned, you'll continue to harm future students!" Miss Hardbroom's lips began to quiver. At once, she realized what she had done, and what the teachers of the past have done. She fell to her knees and began to weep. "Okay, okay, I'll apologise!"

At teatime, she gathered the students in the hall again. There was a long silence as Miss Hardbroom examined Luella and the upside down students. "Students...I'm very sorry for what I've done to you all. Topsy-Turvy Day is literally a bad idea, and because Luella saw you puke up your lunch and harm yourselves with your topsy-turvy spells, I have the sudden idea of banning Topsy Turvy Day forever." A loud cheer rose from the crowd of students as Miss Hardbroom took out the wand and Luella ran up onto the stage. "What's the backwards word for 'Topsy Turvy'?" she whispered to Luella. "Yvrut-Yspot." reminded Luella. Nodding wisely, Miss Hardbroom waved her wand six times and said, "Yvrut-Yspot. Yrvut-Yspot." WHOOSH! As the students were turned the right way up again, they shouted and laughed in desperate glee, and Luella ran into Mildred's arms as she, her friend and Maud engaged in a playful group hug. "Luella saved the day!" shouted one student, patting Luella on the back. "I sure did," said Luella, "Although...I do prefer getting around quicker on your hands." "Oh, Luella," laughed Mildred.
