How The Stork Made Me

"Mummy, how did the stork make me?” I asked my mother Lady Penelope one Spring morning. “Well let’s see…” says my mummy. She loves making up stories.

“Storks live in a big place in the clouds called BabyGo. They always know how to care for and make babies to be delivered all around the world.

They make their babies out of sugar and spice and everything nice.

And sometimes, if some babies are lucky, the stork chef Zegulu might even add a pinch of Talent Icing and some frosted unicorn marshmallows to make them sweeter.

Zegulu is a wonderful cook living in the sky. Unlike most of the cooks in the sky, he is the one who makes the babies. He makes them as sweet and as adorable as possible.

Until the babies get proper eyesight, the storks care for them like they’re their own family members.

They change their nappies using clouds, they feed them Unicorn Marshmallow Porridge and they love to play loads of games with them, like peekaboo and hide and seek.

You, in particular, were made using a special ingredient named ‘Rainbow Mix’, which makes some babies unique, one of a kind, and very special.

And just by adding this Rainbow Mix, Zegulu knew you are destined for greatness - a whole life full of endless possibilities.

When you were created, you were given to a stork named Wilbur. Wilbur was a bit clumsy at times, but sometimes he was very funny. He always knew how to make you laugh.

Wilbur had an excellent singing voice and loved to sing nursery rhymes. He fed you well, and even picked the best clouds to turn into nappies.

When he found out you were to be delivered to me, he was very upset.

He had to tell the whole truth to you, and then he gave you the biggest, cuddliest hug a stork can give.

And then, the day came when the person shouting through the loudspeaker said it was Wilbur’s turn to deliver you. At once, Wilbur agreed to his task.

Through his journey, he battled every force of nature.

He battled through wind and wild rain.

He battled through freezing snow and ice.

Then, he finally approached my mansion. He knew it was time to part with you, so he gave you a gift to remember him by - a teddy in pink pyjamas.

And then, as he flew off, I heard you crying outside my door. I ran up to it, and there you were - small, weak, vulnerable, and well nurtured by Wilbur.

And then, I found a note near you:
“Dear Lady Penelope,
Some friendships last for eternity, but now I have to pass my best friend onto you. She’s your best friend now - I hope she’ll grow up to be just as proud and as wonderful as you.
Love,
Wilbur.”

I was moved to tears, but I picked you up and cuddled you softly. You are the newest member of my family to me. You are the daughter I always wanted to have.

All the while, Wilbur was just a tiny speck in the distance, flying back to base, waiting for another baby to be delivered.

He realised that when one baby who becomes his friend gets delivered to a mother on Earth, another baby will be waiting for him - and soon, you will thank him.

Many years passed, and I took care of you with great care, kindness and gentleness. Even Parker and the other members of International Rescue got into the game.

And now, there you are, a strong, healthy young girl. Just how I expected you to be.”

“That story was so beautiful,” I smiled, wiping tears from my eyes, “Is it true that Wilbur is still waiting for me, somewhere in the clouds?” Lady Penelope nodded silently, and gave me the kindest, softest hug any mother could ever give.

Then Parker came in. “Excuse me, milady, but was I delivered by the stork as well?” Our sadness vanished as we both laughed and laughed. Oh, Parker, you are a card, aren’t you?!

Winter Warmers

Hi, it's Bluey's mum Chilli here. My good friend S recently went to me because I was having trouble deciding what to do for an alternative Christmas activity for big kiddos. She said to sit back, enjoy a drink and watch some TV - like Mystery Science Theatre on Youtube, or Shrek on Disney+ for instance. And you know, everyone knows Shrek 2 makes you think of Thunderbirds. Both the 2004 movie and the classic puppet series. Wackadoo!

Ask Maisy - Feeling Annoyed

Q: Maisy, I feel so annoyed because everyone didn't like my videos, and then I told them to be quiet when one of them suddenly spoke up about Rockstar, the most stupid Youtuber ever. What am I going to do now?

A: I know exactly the cure - when I feel angry and want to lash out at Tallulah or Cyril or someone else, I just have to run away from the play area, into the house and into my room. Then I sit on my bed, cuddle Panda and read him a story, or recite one of my philosophical statements. Also, you have to give people a chance when they speak up about something new, especially when it caters to you - maybe it might be something important. So important in fact that it might be a very big surprise for you. Which reminds me - I need to figure out what gift to buy for Eddie for his surprise party next week. See you in 5!

Anderson Blood

Even after Gerry Anderson died in 2012, his blood flows inside his body, and inside his blood float all of his characters, including Slomo, Roger and Isambard, who have been sent to the Blood Realm following their creator's death.

What Would Maisy Do - Planning A Monday Shop

Dear Maisy,
I need your help! My mum says I can shop for three things every Monday, and I don't know how to organise it. My brain is so muddled up, I don't know one end of my writing desk from the other, and now I usually get the wrong things, or they stop selling them altogether. Can you help me organise the Monday shop so I can get all the things I want?
Love,
Gerald Giraffe

I think I know the simple answer to this question, Gerald. Just use eBay and Amazon for your first two purchases, and then choose another shop for your other purchases, be it Forbidden Planet, Tesco, Hobbycraft, The Works, Typo or anything else you can think of. You are a shopaholic, and that's okay - you can binge buy, but binge buy once a week.

Once you've chosen your three things, head onto Google Keep and write a list so you can remember them, then pin them up so you can remember what's coming next. You can add a picture if you want - I always spruce my notes up with pictures. It'll help you remember what you want to buy - if you're getting a Doctor Who spin off book from Forbidden Planet for instance, you can add a picture of K9. If you're getting something from the Gerry Anderson website, add a Thunderbirds related picture.

I hope this answers your question, Gerald. Happy buying!
Love,
Maisy

What Would Maisy Do - MST3K & Gerry Anderson

Hey, Maisy,
I'm in need of your help because the first ever MST3K episodes mocked my love of Gerry Anderson, and I'm really upset. It's like...they hate it! And I hate them for doing it, and the show will lose more viewers if they found out Gerry Anderson's legacy would be ruined. How do you think I can balance this, Gerry Anderson, Doctor Who and you all at the same time?
Love,
Penny Flamingo.

I'm glad you asked, Penny Flamingo. Since I'm an expert at sorting out TV shows, the best way to balance all of this would be to use this method: the MSTGADW Method. What is that method and what's it got to do with balancing these shows, you ask? Let me explain in full detail:
MYSTERY SCIENCE THEATRE - In order to prescribe your love for Mystery Science Theatre 3000 again, get out two notebooks. One would be for revenge on Tom and Crow for making fun of the puppets you love, and one would be for every single reference they made during each episode. For your 'Revenge File', try and list down three possible ways of getting revenge on the bots before the cows come home each day. For your 'Reference File 2563', list down every possible reference that they make and everything Crow, Tom and the host say in the voices of the monsters. I find it funny because it turns the monsters from fierce enemies to smoking, drinking adults who want nothing more to do with attacking people! Ha ha!
Gerry Anderson - Now this one is very easy. If you're a fan of both Barbara Ann Kipfer and Gerry Anderson, then this one's for you, and I heard how much you love making lists, Penny. All you need is a Google Docs file and a book. Use each letter from every word of the page to make things you are happy about, and as a bonus, try to make it themed around when Thunderbirds, Captain Scarlet and Stingray all aired together on YTV during its heyday in 1995. Or, you can use a notebook and decorate it with stickers.
Doctor Who - You already know the cuttings archive, it's the best site in Doctor Who history. You can use this and four exciting Doctor Who books to keep your love of the Time Lord - the joke book, the quote book, the Doctionary and Now We Are Six Hundred, plus videos of various continuity announcements and events based on the doctor from BBC Four, UK Gold, Forces TV, U&Eden or any other channel that hails the doctor like he's their son. Oh, and if you're asking, The Curse Of Fatal Death is one to look out for, because I like to believe that Father Time is always punishing The Master, and I find it very funny. And if you want to interact with the cuttings online even more, I think you should make collages of the cuttings on Pinterest Shuffle.

Anyway, I hope this answers your question, Penny! Enjoy your new activities!
Love,
Maisy

My Reaction To Gerry Anderson Getting Mocked On MST3K

ME: Well, we didn't have to waste our time loving Stingray and Captain Scarlet so we could do this for you. Joel: And your point is? Commander Shore: Kill them. Me: With pleasure. Destiny Angel: What would Gerry Anderson say? Captain Scarlet: Who cares?! He's dead now. Troy Tempest: Hold it! This is MY company and I give the orders. Now, Sybil will you please kill those stupid robots? Me: Yes! (I kill Crow, Tom and Joel) Phones: WOW!
